I once was blind but now I see

"Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it."

"Be of good cheer. Do not think of today's failures, but of the success that may come tomorrow. You have set yourselves a difficult task, but you will succeed if you persevere; and you will find a joy in overcoming obstacles. Remember, no effort that we make to attain something beautiful is ever lost"

You were born an original. Don’t become a copy

Growing up especially in the church world there was an unspoken standard for how one was supposed to behave, speak, and dress even. I mean I had a stage where I was creative with my fashion but I always tried to please others and be as likeable as possible. Nothing too risque. Sometimes I tried to please others so much it went against my own convictions. It wasn't until one day in an argument with my step mom did I realize how far it had gone. She told me "YOU ARE LIKE WATER! , you completely changed shape and form with your environment!". She meant that I had become a plastic person, or like a Stepford kid. It was something that really stuck with me.  To just be honest and let people see who you truely are. To grow to be that vulnerable with people is intense at first. But it was one lesson in life I learned to appreciate.
The scriptures tell us that god made each and every one of us uniquely. With all of our good characteristics, and our flaws as well. He made us full knowing everything about us. It also says in the bible that he made us in his image. I cant encourage others to be themselves enough. Be creative. Don't be afraid of what others think, because if they are judging you then they are probably confined to social chains themselves. Love yourself! And set a standard for yourself to be unique, the way the good lord intended!

Remedies by Anne Frank

"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be."

“Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!”

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”

War What IS it good for?

Manilla!

As many of you well know my favorite show is RuPaul's Drag Race. I had been rooting for Manilla Luzon, however sadly she did not win. She always had the funniest expressions and creative outfits. Hopefully at some point I will get to meet her!

My Lifestyle And Christianity

Throughout My life I have struggled a lot with who I am, and my faith. In Later blogs I will go into detail about my struggle as a gay christian and my beliefs on scripture, but for now I would like to focus on the core points. I would just like to let other Christians know that it IS okay to be gay. And to let the Gays know that is is okay to be a christian!  I know that God loves me, and has no problem with my lifestyle. I know that there are many others out there who struggle with the same things I went through, especially in the evangelical community. The fear of judgement and rejection from all your friends and family. But I would like to communicate that God IS Love. He understands every struggle we go through, and is there for us when we need him. The scriptures clearly say "for god so loved the world". the WORLD. not just heterosexuals.God does NOT hate you!
For those who need help or support there are numerous ministries out there to help gay's worldwide come to know Christ,  and do not wish to change you. Pastor Judy Hanlon of Hadwen park Congregational Church In worcester MA is a strong gay rights activist and supporter. I would advise speaking to her for questions about scripture or just someone to talk to.
In further Blogs I will use scripture to defend my beliefs, and explain Hebrew and Greek meanings of commonly misunderstood scriptures.

IN THE END ONLY KINDNESS MATTERS!

I Would like to take a moment to remember the victims that were killed in the columbine shootings in 1999. As a victim of bullying growing up I understand what its like to be mistreated. The Columbine Killers were lead to such severe acts after years of torment and bullying from their classmates. Looking at this video One truly begins to understand the fragility of life, and what is really most important. I would like to encourage others to reach out to those who are outcast ed or considered "weird" and picked on. Sometimes all it takes is a simple hello to touch someone Else's heart. You will never know how much of an impact you can have  just from kind words.
Two of the victims killed in columbine received a large portion of attention. Cassie Bernall, and Rachael Scott. Not for their academic and athletic accomplishments, or  even how popular they were, but their love for God, and the way they treated others around them. Each of them were asked by the killers if they still believed in god before being shot. Cassie answered YES. Rachaels Response was "you know I do!". before being killed. Just some awesome examples of martyrs in the name of Christ and how they persevered until the end!
The song in the back round of the video is by Jewel. The message is clear "in the end only kindness matters." Its so true. Live every day like it were your last, and love on others like no other. You never know when it will be the last time you will see someone.
